Say Cheese…

The Cabildo of Lanzarote will have its own stand at the 2009 World Cheese Awards, taking place this year in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between 1st and 3rd October.

Five cheeses from Lanzarote will be battling it out in the different award categories at this international clash of the quesos.  Including fine examples of the cheese makers art from the Finca de Uga, La Atalaya, Rubicon, Montaña Blanca and El Faro.

A tasting of the nominated cheeses will be taking place at the Monumento al Campesino on Tuesday 29th September at 11.00, which will be attended by the Councillor for Tourism, Carlos Espino and the Councillor for Agriculture, Lourdes Bernal, as well as representatives from each dairy.
