Euro Gains Ground On Pound

Bad news for the island’s holiday industry as the Euro has strengthened again against sterling, with £1 now being traded at €1.06.
This is a substantial change since around mid August, when the pound was securing €1.16-1.17 and means that for the foreseeable future UK holidaymakers will find that their holiday money doesn’t stretch quite as far as before.
Euro currency fluctuations against the pound are of particular importance for Lanzarote as the island is heavily dependent on tourism from the UK.
