No Happy Monday For UK Workers

27 October 2009 No Comment

A Surrey conducted by the Canary Island Tourist Board has revealed that Monday October 26th is the most unproductive day of the year for UK workers. The poll, conducted amongst 2000 British residents found that the clock change causes productivity to drop by 50% over the coming week. As depressed workers struggle to come to terms with the onset of winter.

The survey was conducted by Promotur, The Canary Island tourism board and involved 2,000 workers. “The Winter Blues are no joke. They can affect your work performance by making you unable to concentrate and carry out your normal routine, your relationship by affecting your libido and your social life by making you feel irritable and anti-social,” said Dr. Christian Jessen of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Illnesses. “Feeling low as the nights draw in and the days get shorter is something many people experience, but some will struggle with lack of motivation, tiredness and depression.” Some 52% of workers said they will struggle during this period and 14% said last year was so bad they were ticked off by their bosses about it.
