Sands Of Time

30 October 2009 No Comment

After a wait of nearly four years sand is now finally being restored on the beach at Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca.  Which was damaged by Tropical Storm Delta in 2005.

The Director General of the Coastal Department, Alicia Paz, visited Playa Blanca today with the mayoress of Yaiza, Gladys Acuña and a delegate from the Canarian Government, Carolina Darias to witness the beginning of the restoration of the beach.

The mayoress was delighted to announce that today was an important day for the southern resort, which has seen numerous delays to the replenishment of this popular part of the shoreline. Accompanying the Director General was the senator for Lanzarote, Marcos Hernández who has recently been speeding up the process of refurbishment.
