Ash Cloud Update : Eruptions Over For Now

26 May 2010 No Comment

Good news for Europe´s travel industry at last as reports emanating from Iceland suggest that the volcano which has caused widespread disruption has stopped erupting.  And with clear skies and no ash clouds reported for the next five days at least.

Iceland’s Met Office has stated that initial tests seem to suggest that the volcano is now dormant.  Whilst also cautioning that it is still too early to be sure that this is permanent.  Either way the news represents excellent news for Lanzarote’s all important tourist industry which suffered an 8% plus shortfall in passenger numbers last month as a result of the eruptions.
