Mamma Mia …Ryanair Announce New Flights From Italy
Leading budget airline Ryanair will introduce a new route between Bologna in Italy and Lanzarote this November. Direct flights will connect the Italian city with the island at an initial cost of less than €45 return, taxes included.
A spokesman for Ryanair in Spain, Luis Fernandez Mellado, stated in a press release that the airline hopes to stimulate Italian visitors to come to Lanzarote over the coming winter. This will be the first direct flight to operate between the two destinations which already share considerable cultural ties. Flights will run on Wednesday and Sunday throughout the winter months.
At present, Lanzarote only has around 1,000 Italian tourists visiting a month, according to figures compiled by AENA. It is therefore hoped that the inauguration of new direct routes between Italy and Lanzarote will increase the number of visitors from this European country, building on the popularity that the Balearic islands already enjoy with Italian tourists.
