Hats Off To La Graciosa

27 July 2010 No Comment

A new sculpture has just been inaugurated on the island of La Graciosa, in celebration of the unique style of hats worn by womenfolk on the eighth Canarian island. This eye-catching artwork has been placed on the seafront by one of the small beaches that lie in front of Caleta de Sebo and close to the Socio Cultural centre.

The work was created by local sculptors, Juan Agustín Padrón Pérez and Francisco Montelongo Hernández, using grey volcanic Arucas stone in the shape of a typical Graciosera hat.
