Leading travel website Trip Advisor conducted a recent poll amongst its readers and found that the beach at Famara in Lanzarote was rated as the second best in the whole of Spain. Beaches in both the Canary Islands and the Balearics were selected as amongst the best Spain has to offer visiting tourists, with two of them found in the Canaries, whilst five of the top ten were on one of the Balearic Islands.

The full list of top ten beaches leads with La Ses Illetes in Formentera, followed by Playa de Famara in Lanzarote, Playa de Levante in Alicante, Las Benirras in Ibiza, Es Trenc in Mallorca, El Mar Menor in Murcia, Lago Martianez in Tenerife. The final three are Es Grau (Menorca), Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava) and Puerto Mahon (Menorca).
