Over the next two months, visitors to Lanzarote can get a proper taste of the Canaries by visiting the capital of Arrecife. From July 1st to 31st August a new Gastronomic Route through Arrecife will include dozens of bars and restaurants, all of whom aim to tempt tourists in to try assorted local dishes.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote will have its own stand at the 2009 World Cheese Awards, taking place this year in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between 1st and 3rd October.
Five cheeses from Lanzarote will be battling it out in the different award categories at this international clash of the quesos. Including fine examples of the cheese makers art from the Finca de Uga, La Atalaya, Rubicon, Montaña Blanca and El Faro.
