A Fun Day has been organized, taking place this Saturday 7th August at the Playa de los Pocillos in support of wounded British soldiers in Afghanistan. The event will be packed with activities and live music from 15.00 onwards, with plenty to entertain both children and adults. The event will go on into the night and all proceeds raised will go towards the Help for Heroes campaign.

Haria stages a benefit concert for Chile this coming Saturday as part of broader celebration of Dia de Canarias.
The concert takes place from midday in the main Plaza in Haria, which is also home to the weekly market which takes place every Saturday morning. And features live performances from Antonio de La Rosa, a flamenco fusion artist. Along with local favourites Africa Ye and Cuban group Son Y No Son.

The Latin Boxing World Champion will be defending his title against a local fighter next weekend, 12th December at the Sports Centre in Arrecife. Elkin José Ubardes, from Colombia, will be sparring against Lanzarote boxer, Alexis Callero, who is an ex-champion in Spain. Both competitors are fighting in the super middleweight category.

Catch the work of Pepe Dámaso this month - the most prolific contemporary Canarian artist – at the Puerto Calero Gallery. This eminent painter and sculptor was a close contemporary of Cesar Manrique´s and his work tends to focus on natural objects as well as more surreal landscapes.
His exhibition De La Naturaleza runs throughout November and the Galeria de Arte in Puerto Calero is open from 16.00 to 21.00 from Monday to Friday and 11.00 to 21.00 on Saturdays.
