Activities include face painting, a foam party, bouncy castles, pony rides, charity merchandise, food stalls, bars, raffles, auctions and a demonstration from the local fire brigade. Live music will be brought to this event by The Skatoons, Joy Council, Africa Yeah, The Soul Commitments, Naughty Boyz, Simply Wed and the Tareaways.

The concert takes place from midday in the main Plaza in Haria, which is also home to the weekly market which takes place every Saturday morning.  And features live performances from Antonio de La Rosa, a flamenco fusion artist.  Along with local favourites Africa Ye and Cuban group Son Y No Son.

Other activities planned include a Lucha Canaria contest and on Sunday the 30^th a demonstration of the stick based Canarian Martial Art of Juego del Palo.

The bout is being organised by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and will consist of ten rounds of three minutes each. It is being billed as the most important fight of Alexis Callero’s career. The Lanzaroteño has fought 22 bouts in total, of which he has only lost two. There will also be four preliminary matches before the contest between Ubardes and Callero.

It promises to be an exciting match, not least because there are some 6,000 Colombian residents in Lanzarote, many of whom are sure to attend to cheer on their compatriot.    The event kicks off at 20.00 on Saturday 12th December in the covered pavilion in the Cuidad Deportiva Lanzarote (the main football stadium) on the Medular Rambla in Arrecife.

His exhibition De La Naturaleza runs throughout November and the Galeria de Arte in Puerto Calero is open from 16.00 to 21.00 from Monday to Friday and 11.00 to 21.00 on Saturdays.

The artists, Anneke van Zuethem, Anja Püchel and Nicola Aigne, hope to demonstrate that the image of the Canary Islands is not merely defined by tourism. It is the result of their end of degree projects in the disciplines of Architecture, Design and Media Studies at the University of Bauhaus Weimar.

Using photographic images, the show explores the reality that thousands of illegal immigrants endure in their attempts to reach the islands. It also uncovers the difficulties of mixing existing traditions with an influx of new cultures and ideas that is the result of immigration in Lanzarote.

The three students work is displayed under the following titles:

La Rocar – A new public space for Arrecife – Poetry for a surreal enclave by Anneke van Zuethem

Where is the border? – A photographic record of ‘phobias of contact’ by Anja Püchel

Los afortunados – Life in Europe, the promised paradise by Nicola Aigne.

This innovative event is being staged along the main Avenida de Las Playas on Saturday 31st October – turning the entire area in a real party zone and social street based event.  With a grand finale to be held in front of the Los Fariones Hotel from 21.00 onwards.

There are different courses for competitors to tackle with all of the action kicking off at midday.  Whilst musical accompaniment will be provided by local favourites such as the Naughty Boyz and the Mick James Band.

All of the action is taking place from November 1^st to 7^th at Playa San Juan.  Which is located at the opposite end of the village of Caleta de Famara from the huge main beach.  With the event starting at each day at around 10.00 hours.

75,000 dollars worth of prize money as well as much-coveted slots on the surf world’s senior world tour are up for grabs.  And the event also features a full programme of supporting activities, encompassing live music, skateboarding and a beach football competition.

They will be appearing in the traditional saffron and red robes that are associated with Buddhist practices. Highlights include the exhibition New Home being staged at the Museum of International and Contemporary Art in Arrecife.  Which explores the theme of the clash between modern and traditional lifestyles on Lanzarote.  And opens from next Tuesday the 20^th of October.

Along with the D-Quizio Concert, taking place on Saturday 31^st October in the , the waterside setting of El Charco in Arrecife.  Featuring a sundown DJ session from DJ Sinkro, Booby 242 and DJ Sur-Fer. At Bar La Miñoca in the Charco de San Gines, Arrecife.

 The event attracts some of the top names from the world of sailing – along with some seriously expensive yachts.  And they´ll be battling it out for the César Manrique Trophy across the three days of this event.

 There’s a full programme of supporting actives – with each days sailing rounded off with a free live musical performance from acts such as Son Cubano (appearing at 19.15 on Friday the 16^th).  Whilst the whole event is closed with a full scale fiesta on Saturday night featuring DJ Javier Senz and Barra Libre.
