Much to the obvious delight of the national press Ryanair passengers on a flight from Bristol to Lanzarote last week were forced to make an unscheduled landing on the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. As the stormy weather that has been battering the Canary Islands recently forced their pilot to divert from their scheduled landing slot at Arrecife airport on Lanzarote.

Budget airline easyJet is launching new flights to Lanzarote from John Lennon Airport. Thanks to the introduction to their fleet of new Airbus 320 aircraft – which have helped open up new services to both Lanzarote and neighboring Fuerteventura.
The new aircraft has a longer range than existing craft such as the Boeing 737 and can carry 180 passengers. The new route to Lanzarote which launches today, Tuesday 3 November, will provide a three times weekly service with prices starting from as little as £40.99 (one-way, including taxes).

Travelling to Lanzarote on a Ryanair flight this winter? Then make sure you have printed out your boarding cards in advance or you´ll face a £40 fee at the airport. As the flight operators have become the first airline in the world to abolish check in desks.
From today all Ryanair passengers will need to pay an online booking fee of £5 for a single and £10 for a return and present their printed boarding cards at the airport. Or face a charge of £40 per person.
