Team Calero Sail Into 2nd Place in Dubai

 The Canary Islands Puerto Calero sailing team have claimed the runners up position in the Sea Dubai RC 44’ Gold Cup in the Match Race category. The Canarian vessel won three of the four encounters. The boat has been competing against the Artemis, skippered by Dean Barker, Katusha with Paul Cayard at the helm, Sea Dubai with Markus Wieser and No Way Back under the skipper Ray Davies.
While conditions were not favourable on the first day of the competition, with little wind, the second day saw improvements with the result …

Natural Works Of Art

Catch the work of Pepe Dámaso this month -  the most prolific contemporary Canarian artist – at the Puerto Calero Gallery.  This eminent painter and sculptor was a close contemporary of Cesar Manrique´s and his work tends to focus on natural objects as well as more surreal landscapes.
His exhibition De La Naturaleza runs throughout November and the Galeria de Arte in Puerto Calero is open from 16.00 to 21.00 from Monday to Friday and 11.00 to 21.00 on Saturdays.

Autumn Sails – VIII César Manrique Trophy

The international wet-set will be descending on the luxury marina of Puerto Calero next week.  As the prestigious regatta – the 8th annual César Manrique Trophy – gets underway on Lanzarote from October 14th to 17th.
 The event attracts some of the top names from the world of sailing – along with some seriously expensive yachts.  And they´ll be battling it out for the César Manrique Trophy across the three days of this event.
